• Profile Information: Profile photo, bio, phone number, profession, and gender (all optional).
• Host Application Details: Additional information you submit if you apply to become a host on Hango.
• Activity Data: Activities you create, host, or join, including descriptions, schedules, and participant details.
• Communications: Messages you send within activity-specific chats, and any correspondence with our support team.

b) Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data: Approximate location (based on device GPS or network) to show you nearby activities. We do not track your location in the background.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers.
• Usage Data: Screens visited, features used, interaction patterns, timestamps, and crash reports.

c) Information from Third-Party Services

• Authentication Providers: If you sign in through Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from the respective provider. We do not receive your password.
• Firebase Services: We use Google Firebase for authentication, data storage, analytics, and push notifications. Firebase may collect device identifiers and usage statistics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

• Provide Core Services: Display nearby activities, enable event participation, and facilitate in-app communication.
• Account Management: Create and manage your account, verify your identity, and process host applications.
• Personalisation: Recommend activities based on your location, interests, and past participation.
• Safety & Moderation: Monitor and enforce community guidelines, investigate reports, and take action against misuse.
• Communication: Send push notifications about activity updates, reminders, and important announcements.
• Improvements: Analyse usage patterns to improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
• Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.

3. Location Information

Hango uses your approximate location to:

• Show activities happening near you.
• Help hosts reach relevant local participants.
• Calculate distances for search and filtering.

Location data is collected only when the App is in use (foreground). You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. Without location access, some features such as nearby activity discovery will not function properly.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We share your personal data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services (Google Firebase, cloud infrastructure) strictly for app operation, analytics, and notifications. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
• Other Users: Your public profile information (name, photo, bio) and activity participation details are visible to other Hango users as part of the app experience.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of Hango and its users.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction. You will be notified of any such change.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Google Firebase (Google Cloud Platform). We implement the following security measures:

• Data encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL.
• Secure authentication with Firebase Authentication.
• Firestore security rules to restrict unauthorized data access.
• Regular review of access controls and security practices.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as:

• Your account is active and you use the App.
• Necessary to provide our services to you.
• Required by applicable laws (including tax, legal, or regulatory obligations).
• Needed to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain community safety records.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.

Under applicable Indian law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data and account.
• Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent for data processing at any time. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing done before withdrawal.

• Nominate: Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.

8. Children's Privacy

Hango is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 years of age. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe a minor is using the App, please contact us immediately.

9. Third-Party Links & Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

10. Push Notifications

We send push notifications for activity updates, chat messages, reminders, and important announcements. You can manage notification preferences within the App or disable them entirely through your device settings.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make significant changes:

• We will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page.
• We will notify you through the App or via email for material changes.

Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
